Daifuku

I have been craving sweetened red bean paste for months.

Last night, I finally got my fix. J and K and I made mochi (the cheating way in the microwave) and filled it with deliciousness from a can of bean paste that has been sitting in our pantry just waiting for the right ceremonial moment to be opened.

So delicious and not particularly hard to make either!

And now to gobble up the leftovers . . . .

That sounds marvelous--the mochi too, though it always makes me remember my first New Year's Day with braces. Yikes.

(My Pittsburgh landlady and I once had a craving for mochi and cooked it in minestrone soup. That was a bad idea.)
